Our governance advisory services provide pragmatic, actionable Corporate and Clinical Governance Advice and Services in legislation, regulation, risk, compliance, quality, sustainability, strategy and business planning, boardroom efficacy, succession planning, directors’ duties and a host of related governance products and services. We work with the public and commercial sectors as well as the voluntary and mutual sectors.
The GAP Team
The GAP team has a unique set of qualifications and experienced derived from personal professional experience, allowing them to provide clients with legally sound, pragmatic and actionable solutions to some of the most vexing problems faced by today’s corporate chairs, boards and directors.
The team is part of DAC Beachcroft LLP, an international full-service law firm with offices throughout the UK and internationally. DAC Beachcroft LLP is also the leading law firm advising the NHS as a preferred, trusted advisor to a significant number of providers, commissioners and other NHS organisations across the country.
The team of eight includes former executive directors, the former Joint Head of Corporate Policy at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries (ICSA) who also has significant listed PLC secretariat experience and two former company secretaries who have worked in health and housing. One member is a recent senior independent director at a FTSE 250 company. Four GAP team members are chartered secretaries and one is a senior lawyer and practising Coroner. We work with our extensive team of solicitor colleagues, and with you as an integrated team.
The Practice has extensive experience of developing, implementing and reviewing corporate and clinical governance arrangements in the public and commercial sectors. They are highly experienced at advising and training boards of directors, Chairs, Chief Executive Officers, individual directors, governing bodies and councils of governors. The team’s varied professional backgrounds provide for the lessons learnt in different industries to be shared and applied by clients to achieve optimal governance arrangements.
Corporate and Clinical Governance Advice and Services
In addition to corporate governance and regulatory services, the team provides a range of clinical governance advice, including reviews of risk management arrangements, training and advice on handling and learning from incidents, and full assessments of clinical and quality governance structures.
The team also carries out investigations into service failures and complaints. Along with the lawyers in the firm, they advise on governance arrangements associated with contractual, IP, HR and corporate structures for integrated care organisations, with contributing parties including healthcare and social care providers and commissioners, local authorities and others.
